Why OCI and why ADAPTIA

Base Database and Exadata are contracted as a service, with platform maintenance handled by the provider. Other workloads run on standard machines and containers.

Where the price difference is
The two line items that weigh most when Oracle workloads move to another cloud are data egress and licensing. OCI’s public price list treats both differently. The comparison is made on each case’s actual consumption.
